Standard Features of Helman Fiber Tensioners 
** As of 2001, many optional features are now standard features.  **

Tension Command (Setpoint): Fiber tension is set from a dial on the control cabinet. All tensioners or groups of tensioners can be changed instantly at any time during the process. Chuck (Mandrel): Air-operated for rapid spool changes.
Time In: Built in 6 second, low torque "time in" to take up slack before going to command tension.
Tension Control: Individual ON/OFF control allows selection of individual tensioners when the use of all units is not required. Auto-Fault: Drive will be shut down if tension deviates from preset tolerances. Both "Fault Window" and "Fault Delay" are adjustable for protection against process malfunctions.
Tension Status: Red & green Indicator for each unit gives status of individual tensioners at a glance. Safety Features: On board fusing; motor current limit; over voltage and temperature protection; motor shutdown upon fault condition.
Tension Meter: Selectable tension meter displays real time true tension of each fiber.

External Tension Command (Setpoint):
Input terminals or individual are provided. This allows separate commands for each tensioner or group of tensioners. The setpoint can be adjusted from the control cabinet, winder computer, process controller or any intelligent source. **
Remote On/Off Terminals:
Terminals to connect a remote operator's panel for convenient tension control access.

Tension Output:
Tension history output capability to digital or analog device. **
External Fault:
Additional fail-safe contact closure for use in audio or visual alarm signal and/or for stopping the winder or process.

Optional Features of Helman Fiber Tensioners

Tension Monitors: LED or LCD true tension monitor for each fiber.   Custom Built: Custom engineering of tensioner systems for exact customer needs is typical for Helman.
Setpoint (command) Monitors: LED or LCD tension command (setpoint control) monitors when different setpoint controls are used for automated tension changes on-the-fly. Other Options: There are many other options too numerous to list.
