| TYPES
OF TENSIONERS: We
provide optical, graphite, Kevlar, Nextel, fiberglass, nylon and wire Fiber Tensioners and
unwinders of all types for unwinding fibers, wires membranes
and any other product that are on spools and need to go to or from a
process. All tensioners are bi-directional with unlimited re-wind
(or take-up capabilities). The
Helman tensioner is extremely versatile. The same tensioners that are used for
optical fiber tensioning and optical fiber processing are also used for composite winding,
wire tensioning and other similar winding and unwinding processes. TENSION RANGES: All Helman tensioners will tension from as low as 1/2 gram to 30 pounds or more. There is no need to have different tensioners for different applications. Full scale tension ranges start at 100 grams and can go as high as 50 to 100 pounds. Typical metric tension ranges are 100 grams, 1000 grams, 10 Kg or 20 kg. Typical English tension ranges are 1 pound, 5 pounds, 10 pounds, 20 pounds and 30 pounds or more. |
TENSION ACCURACY:
The typical fiber tension payout accuracy is better than 0.1% of the full scale
tension range which the system is currently set up on. Usually accuracy is
as high as 0.05%. PAYOUT SPEEDS: The Helman Tensioner's typical maximum payout speed is 600 feet per minute. With the high speed option, speeds in excess of 3000 feet per minute (1000 meters per minute) can be achieved. TAKE UP SPEEDS: The take up (slack) rewind speed is typically around 600 feet per minute. However, with a high speed take up option installed, take up speeds can exceed 2000 feet per minute. |
